Announcement on Application for the Second Batch of “Promoting the reform of higher education by using big data technology, Energizing teachers and students to explore the future” Industry-Education Joint Fund<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

To respond to Outline for the Innovation-driven National Development Strategy, implement relevant policies in the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Education Development, actively explore the education mode of industry-education integration and promote the talent co-training mechanism of enterprises and schools, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Development Center and UICC (Beijing) Education Technology Co., Ltd. established the Fund for \u201cPromoting the reform of higher education by using big data technology, Energizing teachers and students to explore the future\u201d (FPE for short). After the application notice was released in October 2017, it was warm welcomed by colleges and universities. After the peer review, the first batch of funded projects were released early in May 2018.\u00a0<\/p>


To continuously support the scientific research in cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things of colleges and universities and carry out educational technology research, educational reform and cultivation of innovative talents based on it, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Development Center decided to start the second batch of FPE application. Relevant matters are hereby announced in the following:\u00a0<\/p>


1. Instruction to the Project<\/strong><\/p>


FPE is set up for colleges and universities researches on cloud computing, big data, AI and IoT. It provides the following support and cooperation for the selected colleges and universities.\u00a0<\/p>


(1) Fund for educational technology research
To promote the application of cloud computing, big data, AI and IoT technologies in education and promote educational reform with technological change, the fund will provide RMB 400,000 yuan (including 50% for the project expenditure, 50% for the hardware and software platform of scientific research) for each project.\u00a0<\/p>


(2) Fund for educational reform
To practice the guiding outline of industry-education integration advocated by the Ministry of Education and target at the educational reform of training a new generation of application-oriented IT talents, this fund can be applied by application-oriented colleges and higher vocational schools. The fund will provide RMB 300,000 yuan (including 50% for the project expenditure, 50% for the hardware and software platform of experimental training) for each project.\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

(3) The selection direction and application conditions of the Educational Technology Research Fund and the Educational Reform Fund shall meet the requirements of the \u201cGuidelines for the Application of the of Promoting the reform of higher education by using big data technology, Energizing teachers and students to explore the future\u201d Industry-Education Joint Fund (Appendix 1).<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

(4) The implementation duration of the second batch of Industry-Education Joint Fund will be from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The execution period may be appropriately extended according to the complexity of the project, up to a maximum of two years.<\/p>

2. Application for the Topic<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

(1) The applicant college and university should fill in the Application Form of \u201cPromoting the reform of higher education by using big data technology, Energizing teachers and students to explore the future\u201d Joint Fund– Educational Technology and Research Fund (see Appendix 2) or The Application Form of \u201cPromoting the reform of higher education by using big data technology, Energizing teachers and students to explore the future\u201d Joint Fund– Educational Reform Fund (see Appendix 3) in accordance with the requirements of The Guidelines of \u201cPromoting the reform of higher education by using big data technology, Energizing teachers and students to explore the future\u201d Joint Fund (see Appendix 1).<\/p>


(2) The deadline of submission of the application form is\u00a0July 31, 2018.<\/p>


(3) Please send the electronic application form to\u00a0uiedu@cutech.edu.cn<\/a>. The printed application form should be stamped with the university\u2019s official seal with two originals and addressed to The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Development Center (Address: Room 805, No.35 Zhongguancun Street, Haidian District, Beijing, 100080).\u00a0<\/p>
