  1. Project Types<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    (1)<\/span>General Program<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    It supports\u00a0<\/span>scientific and technical personnel engaged in basic and applied fundamental research in the field of natural sciences to independently select topics, explore freely and conduct innovative scientific research, and promote balanced, coordinated and sustainable development of various disciplines.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0(2)<\/span>Outstanding Youth Program\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    The project supports outstanding young scholars who have made certain achievements in basic and applied fundamental research to choose their own research directions and conduct innovative research, promotes the rapid growth of young scientific and technological talents, and nurtures a number of outstanding academic cadres who have the potential to enter the national and global frontiers of science and technology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02.\u00a0<\/span>R<\/span>equirements and<\/span>I<\/span>nstructions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u3000(1) Application restriction requirements.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u3000Applicants shall be full-time staff of the provincial fund<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>host institutions<\/span>, and each applicant can only apply for\u00a0<\/span>1<\/span>\u00a02021 provincial natural science fund project, in which applicants\u00a0<\/span>whose host institutions are<\/span>\u00a0in Hong Kong and Macao can only apply for\u00a0<\/span>General<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>ro<\/span>gram<\/span>. S&T personnel with one of the following circumstances are not allowed to apply<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u30001.\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>he number of provincial science and technology plans (special projects, funds, etc.) projects\u00a0<\/span>hosted by<\/span>\u00a0the applicant in research reaches 3 (inclusive) or more or 1 (inclusive)\u00a0<\/span>project\u00a0<\/span>overdue for one year without acceptance (except for\u00a0<\/span>project types including P<\/span>latform,\u00a0<\/span>I<\/span>nclusive\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>olicy and\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>ost-subsidy projects).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u30002.\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>he applicant’s provincial fund<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0projects (including natural science\u00a0<\/span>foundation projects<\/span>\u00a0and provincial<\/span>–<\/span>joint fund projects) under research have accumulated more than two (incl<\/span>usive<\/span>).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u30003.Applicants who have submitted more than two cumulative applications for\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>rovincial\u00a0<\/span>S<\/span>cience and\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>echnology\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>lans (special projects, funds, etc.) in 2020.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u30004.\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>he applicant has applied the same or similar research content to the provincial science and technology plan (special, foundation, etc.) projects in 2020.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u30005. The applicant is disqualified from undertaking and participating in the tasks of provincial science and technology plans (special projects, funds, etc.)<\/span>\u00a0as applicant<\/span>\u00a0due to serious breach of trust in the provincial science and technology plans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u3000Other conditions required for applicants to apply for\u00a0<\/span>General Program<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>O<\/span>utstanding\u00a0<\/span>Y<\/span>outh\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>ro<\/span>gram<\/span>\u00a0are detailed in the corresponding project application guidelines (Annex 1 and 2).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u3000(II) Requirements for\u00a0<\/span>Application<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>M<\/span>aterials.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u3000Applicants shall submit application materials as required, and no content that violates laws and is confidential shall appear in the application. The applicant shall be responsible for the authenticity and legality of the submitted application materials, and shall confirm his\/her personal integrity commitment in the system (no need to upload a paper commitment letter).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u3000If the project application involves issues related to research ethics and scientific and technological security (e.g. biosafety, information security, etc.), the applicant shall strictly comply with relevant national laws and regulations and ethical guidelines, and provide relevant proofs such as the scientific ethical review opinion of the\u00a0<\/span>host institution<\/span>\u00a0(subject to the supporting documents uploaded in the attachment).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u30003. The starting date in the application form shall be January 1, 2021, and the ending date shall be filled in according to the requirements of the funding period of each type of project.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u3000\u30004. All the projects of the<\/span>\u00a0Guangdong<\/span>\u00a0Natural Science Foundation adopt<\/span>\u00a0online<\/span>\u00a0application. When applying for a project, only the electronic application and attached materials need to be submitted online,\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>no need to submit a paper application.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    The online application duration is:\u00a0<\/span>August 12rd<\/span><\/b>–<\/span>August 31st<\/span><\/b>, 2020<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
