The research field of the submitted application should be among the research directions listed on the guideline. Based on the research fields involved and their scope, a consulting research project can be classified as a major consulting research project, a key consulting research project, or a normal consulting research project. The project period shall not exceed one year.<\/p>

(1) Major consulting research project.\u00a0<\/p>

Focus on addressing overall critical engineering and technological problems that would affect the social and economic development of Guangdong Province. The consulting research project should be strategic, forward-looking, and comprehensive. In principle, the project team members should include more than 5 academicians and the funding for each project ranges from 1 to 2 million yuan.<\/p>

(2) Key consulting research project<\/p>

Focus on addressing key problems in key industries in Guangdong province. The consulting research project should be strategic, forward-looking, and specific. In principle, the project team members should include more than 3 academicians and the funding for each project ranges from 500K to 1 million yuan.<\/p>

(3) Normal consulting research project<\/p>

Focus on addressing critical engineering technological problems in Guangdong province. The consulting research project should be strategic and specific. The funding for each project ranges from 300K to 500K yuan.<\/p>

Application requirements<\/strong><\/p>

The project types, sub-topics, project period, and the funding amount of the submitted application should strictly follow the relevant provisions of the \u2018Measures for the Management of Strategic Research and Consultation of the Chinese Academy of Engineering\u2019 and the \u2018Measures for the Management of Special Funds for Academicians’ Scientific and Technological Consultation\u2019, as well as the relevant management methods from the Guangdong Research Institute. (for more information, please visit http:\/\/xt.gdsh.com.cn\/research\/synopsis<\/a> ) The proposal should focus on the necessity of the project, the content of the research, the main innovation points, and the project target. The project team should also prepare a scientific and reasonable budget plan.<\/p>

The consulting research projects are all non-confidential projects. All projects are applied by e-mail and paper.
