User Guidelines

User must:

  1. Work according to the guidelines listed on this web site, and be aware of all the procedures listed on it.
  2. Leave a clean working environment at the end of the working session, throw glass into suitable containers and bio-hazard materials into suitable bio-hazard bags.
  3. Inform the lab manager about any problem or malfunction of any equipment. This will also be reported in the diary notebook.
  4. Working with living-cell samples of any kind or with live pathogens is strictly forbidden.

Data Files:

  1. At the end of each session, user has to move the files to the data server (server or maincomputer), then transfer the files to user’s lab computer.
  2. The CryoEM Center is not responsible for user’s data.

Reservation and Registration:

  1. Reservations should be done only through the GTIIT BookitLab platform by username and password as specified at Appointment. Username and password are personal and should not be transferred to any other user.
  2. Registration of the effective working hours will be done only through the computerized system. Please use the notebook only in case of a malfunction of the computerized system.
  3. Cancellation of working hours should be done at least one workday in advance through the website, phone or email. Otherwise, session will be charged for the same number of hours according to the reservation.
  4. The use of CryoEM Center equipment is subject to payment as detailed in this web site (Fees and Training).

Safety Instructions:

  1. The common working hours at the CryoEM Center are from Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00. These hours are subjected to holidays, conferences, etc. During these periods, the CryoEM Center staff will not be available.
  2. Any user that needs to work in the CryoEM Center after the working hours, or when there is no one from the staff, should request specific permission from the CryoEM Center lab manager and sign additional safety procedures.
  3. Users will not be able to enter the center without being aware of the special safety requirements for working beyond working hours.
  4. Independent users have to follow and approve the Safety Training & Testing Modules in MOODLE: 1) Lab Safety Mandatory Training, 2) Hazardous Waste Management, 3) Experimental Hazard Analysis EHA, 4) Strictly Controlled Chemicals Management, 5) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), 6) Gas Safety, and 7) Emergency Response at https://sites.gtiit.edu.cn/ehs
