Abstract

The Tamagawa Number Conjecture (TNC), formulated by Bloch and Kato, provides a broad framework that generalises the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture, establishing deep connections between the analytic properties of L-functions and the algebraic structures of motives. In this talk, I will introduce refined versions of the TNC and survey recent progress in this direction, with a particular focus on its connections to Galois module theory and Iwasawa theory.

Bio

Yu Kuang is a Wu Wen-Tsun Assistant Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She obtained her PhD in pure mathematics from King’s College London under the supervision of David Burns. Her research focuses on the arithmetic properties of Galois-Gauss sums and integral Iwasawa theory.
