GTIIT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guangdong Technion \u2013 Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) is a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution located in Shantou, Guangdong Province, China. GTIIT was formally established in 2016 as a result of the unique cooperation between Shantou University (STU) and the Technion \u2013 Israel Institute of Technology (the Technion). GTIIT welcomed its first cohort in 2017. GTIIT is the first Sino-foreign cooperative university with an independent legal entity to introduce China with Israel’s high-quality higher education resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GTIIT is an international level research-oriented university with unique characteristics. Its vision is to become a world-class international university, conducting cutting-edge research in the fields of science and technology. GTIIT is introducing the high-quality educational resources of the Technion, one of the world’s top technological institutions. It carries out innovative teaching, cutting-edge research and high-level technology transfer. It cultivates outstanding talents with innovative ability, global vision, and humanistic quality. In 2018, Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology was included in the “High-level University Construction Plan” of Guangdong Province, becoming one of the youngest universities selected for this plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from 2018, GTIIT has began to recruit Master\u2019s and PhD students. Both Master\u2019s and PhD degrees adopt an independent enrolment mode, and the enrolment standard is in accordance with the rules and regulation of Technion. Graduate students will be awarded Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the Technion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) is located in Haifa, Israel, which is known for its innovative and entrepreneurship culture. It was established in 1912 and is the oldest university in Israel. Since its establishment, the Technion has achieved many scientific and technological innovations. It recruited first-class faculty members and gave birth to four Nobel Prize winners. Technion has been ranked in recent years ~80 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4e00\u3001Features of GTIIT Graduate Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Degree awarded by Technion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master\u2019s and doctoral degrees will be awarded by the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Israel and certified by the Ministry of Education of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. International application<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The international admission application system has been adopted. Applicants do not need to take the National Graduate Entrance Examination in China. There are no compulsory requirements in English proficiency test score for candidates in most departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Dual advisors<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dual-advisors system is implemented. Students will primarily complete their research and studies at GTIIT in Shantou, China. Master\u2019s and doctoral students will spend at least one or two semesters of study and research, respectively, at the Technion in Haifa, Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. International top faculty recourses<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GTIIT recruits world leading international faculty members from top universities and research institutions around the world, ensuring a high level of teaching and research and enabling collaboration and access to a global research community and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with the teaching methods and teaching quality assurance system of the Technion, graduate courses are delivered entirely in English at GTIIT and Technion. – Applicants in Mechanical Engineering are required to provide GRE. Applicants can apply for GRE waiver by providing a recommendation letter from prospective advisor. Applicants for Mechanical Engineering from non-English speaking countries might be required to take a TOEFL test instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– For the department of Chemistry, applicants might be required to take the GRE, depending upon the decision of the committee following the interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PhD<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Applicants for Mechanical Engineering from non-English speaking countries, who are exempt from GRE, might be required to take a TOEFL test instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Candidates in most departments can submit four recommendation letters to apply for a GRE exemption (including 1 letter from the Technion future advisor, 1 letter from the Master advisor).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
