DESCRIPTION:Title: Structured Light and Its Applications\nSpeaker: Qiang Wang\nPhysics Department, College of Science, Shantou University, Shantou 515063, China\nAbstract\nAll light has structure, the spatially structured light fields refers to the light fields in which the amplitude, phase and polarization have nonuniform spatial distributions. Based on their diverse spatial characteristics, the structured light is widely used in fields such as optical manipulation, information encoding, optical sensing, and measurement. Recently, it has been possible to control the light from single degree of freedom (DoF) to multiple DoFs and from low to high dimensionality, and more complex forms for the spatial distribution of light fields have emerged. Here we present our recent advances in manipulation and its applications of structured light, from traditional transverse polarized fields towards longitudinal polarized structured light, beyond optical angular momentum towards control of all degrees of freedom. Based on the research, we proposed a feasible scheme for the on-demand customization of arbitrarily complex spatially structured light fields. The results have established a solid foundation for more accurate optical micromanipulation and novel information coding. The results are expected to provide important technical support for micro-nano photonics and optical information processing.\nAbout the Speaker: \nDr. Qiang Wang received his MS and PhD degrees from the School of Physics in Nankai University of China at 2019 and 2024, respectively. Now he is a lecturer in the College of Science, Shantou University. His research interests include manipulation of structured light, vector optical field, optical angular momentum, optical micromanipulation and optical holography.\n
