One of the central focuses of this field is to build clear connection between the transport properties and the electronic structures of molecular junctions. In particular, the offset of the Fermi level relative to the appropriate frontier molecular orbital and the electrode\u2212molecule coupling strength (level width) are recognized as two main factors that determine the electrical properties of a typical molecular junction. We use conducting probe atomic force microscopy to contact small numbers of molecules and to test their electrical properties. Based on an analytical single level model, derived from the Landauer formula, we are able to extract the effective tunneling barrier and molecule-electrode interface coupling from experimental current-voltage traces. We are interested in how the current-voltage characteristics of these molecular junctions depend on molecular size, bonding and functional group architecture, and the nature of the electrode-molecule contacts. We then analyze the impacts of these variables on the performance and electronic structure of the devices. Our study not only provides insights on molecular device physics, but also allows for improved device optimization in order to obtain desired electrical behaviors.\r\n\r\n\u5206\u5b50\u7535\u5b50\u5b66\u7814\u7a76\u5355\u4e2a\u6216\u5355\u5c42\u5206\u5b50\u6750\u6599\u7684\u7535\u8377\u4f20\u8f93\u7279\u6027\u3002\u8be5\u9886\u57df\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u5173\u952e\u8bfe\u9898\u662f\u5c06\u4f20\u8f93\u7279\u6027\u4e0e\u5206\u5b50\u7ed3\u7684\u7535\u5b50\u6001\u7ed3\u6784\u6e05\u695a\u7684\u5173\u8054\u8d77\u6765\u3002\u5728\u7535\u5b50\u6001\u7ed3\u6784\u65b9\u9762\uff0c\u8d39\u7c73\u80fd\u7ea7\u5230\u7535\u8377\u4f20\u8f93\u8f68\u9053\u7684\u8ddd\u79bb\u4e0e\u7535\u6781-\u5206\u5b50\u95f4\u7684\u8026\u5408\u5f3a\u5ea6(\u8f68\u9053\u534a\u5cf0\u5bbd)\u88ab\u8ba4\u4e3a\u4e24\u4e2a\u51b3\u5b9a\u7535\u5b66\u6027\u80fd\u4e3b\u8981\u56e0\u7d20\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u5c06\u4f7f\u7528\u5bfc\u7535\u539f\u5b50\u529b\u663e\u5fae\u955c\u6280\u672f\uff0c\u6d4b\u91cf\u5c11\u91cf\u5206\u5b50\u7684\u7535\u5b66\u7279\u6027\uff0c\u5e76\u91c7\u7528\u57fa\u4e8e\u6717\u9053\u516c\u5f0f\u7684\u5355\u8f68\u9053\u5206\u6790\u6a21\u578b\u76f8\uff0c\u4ece\u5b9e\u9a8c\u6d4b\u91cf\u5f97\u5230\u7684\u7535\u6d41-\u7535\u538b\u66f2\u7ebf\u4e0a\u83b7\u53d6\u7535\u8377\u6709\u6548\u96a7\u7a7f\u52bf\u78ca\u4e0e\u7535\u6781-\u5206\u5b50\u8026\u5408\u5f3a\u5ea6\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u5174\u8da3\u5305\u542b\u5206\u5b50\u5c3a\u5bf8\u3001\u5206\u5b50\u5316\u5b66\u952e\u4e0e\u529f\u80fd\u56e2\u3001\u5206\u5b50\u4e0e\u7535\u6781\u95f4\u7684\u63a5\u89e6\u65b9\u5f0f\u5982\u4f55\u5f71\u54cd\u5668\u4ef6\u7684\u7535\u6d41-\u7535\u538b\u7279\u6027\u3002\u7136\u540e\u5206\u6790\u8fd9\u4e9b\u56e0\u7d20\u5bf9\u5668\u4ef6\u6027\u80fd\u4e0e\u7535\u5b50\u6001\u7ed3\u6784\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\u3002\u8be5\u7814\u7a76\u7684\u76ee\u7684\u662f\u4e0d\u4ec5\u63cf\u7ed8\u5206\u5b50\u7535\u5b50\u5b66\u5668\u4ef6\u7684\u7269\u7406\u56fe\u753b\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u6709\u5229\u4e8e\u6211\u4eec\u63d0\u9ad8\u5668\u4ef6\u7684\u4f18\u5316\u7a0b\u5ea6\u4ee5\u83b7\u5f97\u7406\u60f3\u7684\u7535\u5b66\u884c\u4e3a\u3002","sort-position_responsibilities":"sort-left-2","position_responsibilities-custom-title":"Project Details (\u7814\u7a76\u7b80\u4ecb)","position_responsibilities-hide-title":"off","position_qualifications":"-CV, represented publications and graduation certificates.
