Core Innovation and Education Centers<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In coordination and collaboration with professional people from the Technion, two educational core centers will be erected.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 a. Teaching education center, in which teachers will be personally mentored and teaching methods will be assessed, improved, innovatively designed and explored.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 b. Innovation center, that will educate, promote and support innovation and entrepreneurship at all stages. Activity will include UG and graduate students, research fellows and faculty members. The center will be the place for collaboration with local industry as well as potential investors.<\/p>

These two centers will be instituted in one \u201cEducation center\u201d building that will include offices, meeting and seminars rooms, studying spaces etc. The centers will also serve STU students and faculty as well as High school teachers and talented students.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Multidisciplinary Research Centers<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

General Idea<\/u><\/strong>: In order to bring GTIIT to the highest international level of research and education we intend to establish Science and Engineering Multidisciplinary Research Centers focused on specific field\/area\/challenge that require multidisciplinary approach with modern up-to-date research facility. The Research centers will be the place in which GTIIT recruited scientists will do their research in collaboration with scientists from the Technion and from Chinese and international top universities.<\/p>

Objectives<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>

  1. To provide a structure that promotes multidisciplinary research, and that can adapt to new challenges and disciplines,<\/li>
  2. To Enhance and improve research activity in GTIIT, attracting top tier scientists.\u00a0<\/li>
  3. To be a source for existing as well as potential additional teaching programs<\/li><\/ol>

    Using this new organization format will allow GTIIT to attract scientists from diverse disciplines, including disciplines that still have no UG programs (computer scientists, physicists, mathematicians etc.). Furthermore, having these people in GTIIT will help in opening additional UG programs. The centers will be the key factor in recruiting excellent scientists that will take part in opening new teaching programs.\u00a0 The centers will produce teaching programs as well as excellence research for the benefit of the Province and will put GTIIT in the first line of research universities.<\/p>

    People<\/strong>:<\/u>\u00a0experimental and theoretical scientists and engineers, that will be recruited to GTIIT specially for this purpose based on research credentials related to the center research topic.<\/p>

    Number of researchers in each center will be between 60 to 80 depending on research topics involved with total of 300 scientists. For specific areas such as Health and Medicine, physicians and social scientists will be recruited as adjunct members from the Technion and STU faculties of Medicine.<\/p>

    Governance<\/strong>:<\/u>\u00a0The Head of each center will be an experienced Technion\/GTIIT scientist preferably with management experience and abilities.\u00a0 An advising International Scientific committee including GTIIT and Technion representatives will oversee the research activity.<\/p>

    The center will be able to house also MSc\/PhD students and international visiting researchers.<\/p>
