Homogeneous Isotropic Turbulence (HIT) Experimental Tank

 

 

 

The Homogeneous Isotropic Turbulence (HIT) experimental tank measures 1.6 x 1.1 x 2.3 m (length x width x height), with a total equipment power of approximately 16 kW. The variable-pitch, variable-speed rotating mechanism allows free adjustment of the experimental spacing of the rotating grids along the guide rails, with a rotational speed range of approximately 0-1100 rpm. The acrylic water tank has a maximum capacity of approximately 1.17 m³ and external dimensions of approximately 120 × 58 × 80 cm.

The total weight of the equipment is approximately 8.3 tons, with the wind tunnel section weighing about 3.5 tons and the water channel section weighing about 4.8 tons when filled with water. The total power consumption is approximately 33.5 kW, including an 18.5 kW variable-frequency speed-regulated motor for the wind tunnel, a 7.5 kW servo motor for the wave generator, and a 7.5 kW variable-frequency pump.
