Abstract

In this talk, Prof. Xu will discuss the latest important advances in cast magnesium alloys, wrought magnesium alloys, bio-magnesium alloys, Mg-based energy storage materials and corrosion and protection of Mg alloys, including both the development of new materials and the innovation of their processing technologies.

Biography

Prof. Chunjie Xu, serves as a professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Xi’an University of Technology. He is the Executive Director of the Xi’an Shechtman Nobel Prize Institute for New Materials Research, the head of the “Advanced Magnesium Alloy Materials Science and Technology” academic innovation and intelligence introduction base for higher education in Shaanxi Province. He has published over 200 academic papers and obtained more than 60 authorized national invention patents, of which more than 30 have been commercialized and applied by relevant enterprises.

Main research areas: Additive manufacturing – Magnesium alloy 3D printing materials, equipment, and processes; Lightweight metals and their toughening mechanisms – Toughening of magnesium alloys, aluminum alloys, and zinc alloys; The mechanism of large plastic deformation and toughening of metal-based materials, etc.
