广东省能量转换材料与技术重点实验室2024年开放基金项目申报指南
根据《广东省科学技术厅关于省重点实验室建设与运行的管理办法》等相关文件要求,以及为了推动广东省在能量转换材料与技术领域的创新和产业化发展,广东省能量转换材料与技术重点实验室(简称 MATEC)拟发布2024年度开放课题项目申请指南。本年度项目坚持“基础性”和“应用性”并重的原则,重点资助解决能量转换材料与技术中的关键科学、技术问题。基于资助研究内容与MATEC成员的互补性原则,2024年度的开放课题项目重点支持在如下领域开展研究,实施周期为2年。
一、支持领域
1.1 机电转换技术
1)压电陶瓷材料
2)柔性电子与能量收集/转换设计
3)电子和原子尺度上的先进模拟方法
1.2 储能电池技术
1)多尺度建模与固态电池的器件制备
2)面向下一代电化学储能的新材料合成、界面设计和反应机理
3)先进微结构表征技术,包括同步辐射、中子散射、离子束分析等
1.3 催化转化技术
1)微生物共培养合成气发酵生产丁酸或者醇类生物能源
2)用于高效一碳化合物和氢气的催化膜反应器及有机废物转化技术
3)CO2 转化的热催化和光热催化方法
4) 热裂解、多相催化与厌氧发酵相结合的生物质升级转化技术
二、项目类别及资助额度
2024年度开放基金项目资助额度为4~5万元,拟资助8-10项。热忱欢迎国内从事相关领域研究的科技工作者踊跃申报。
三、项目申报要求
申请人基本要求:申请人需具备博士学位,在相关领域具有一定的研究基础。
截至时间:项目申请截止日期为2024年5月12日。
评审结果公布时间:5月30日。
合作要求:为方便对开放基金项目的管理,项目申请人在申报时需要填写一名重点实验室固定成员作为项目合作者。
申请方式:将电子版申请书投到yuehuan.kuang@gtiit.edu.cn,逾期不予受理。
四、项目结题要求
以项目申请书中提出的预期成绩为依据,考察项目的完成情况。基本达到预期成果的项目准许结题。对于和预期成果差距较大的项目,经实验室开放课题委员会讨论通过后,可以延期结题。对于委员会讨论没有通过的项目不予结题,并在之后3年内不再接受该项目负责人的开放课题申请。
五、项目遴选及管理原则
MATEC对外开放基金项目遴选采取个人申报、工作委员会评议、实验室主任审核批准、公示的方式进行。申请项目审批通过后将在MATEC重点实验室主页https://sites.gtiit.edu.cn/matec 上公布。项目公示结束后,实验室将组织与项目团队签订项目合同。申请人须在1个月内确定研究任务,开展项目研究。
MATEC鼓励外校科技人才来MATEC开展科学研究,受重点实验室开放基金项目资助的研究团队,应于每年度结束时提交课题年度进展报告。实验室每年5月份组织一次开放基金工作总结及学术交流会,受资助项目负责人或骨干成员需对各自项目进行汇报,由重点实验室评估小组对各项研究工作进行评估并建议改进和调整。
六、科研经费和成果管理
MATEC对外开放基金项目经费一次性发放资助金额,所有经费实行专款专用,要求项目经费预算科学合理,实事求是。开放基金资助项目所取得的科研数据、论文和各种报告等成果,归广东省能量转换材料与技术重点实验室和研究者共有。
凡由实验室基金资助的课题,结题时要向重点实验室提交如下材料:

Application Guidelines for Open Fund Projects in 2024
According to the requirements of “Administrative Measures of Guangdong Department of Science and Technology on the Construction and Operation of Provincial Key Laboratories” and relevant documents, and in order to drive the innovation and industrialization of Guangdong Province in the field of materials and technologies for energy conversion, the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion (MATEC) plans to issue the Application Guidelines for Open Fund Projects in 2024. Projects in 2024 adhere to the principle of being “basic” and “applied”, focusing on funding projects that solve key scientific and technological problems in materials and technologies for energy conversion. In order to make the funded researches and the researches of MATEC members complementary to each other, the 2024 open fund project will mainly support researches in the following areas, with an implementation period of 2 years.
Ⅰ. Supporting areas
1.1 Electromechanical conversion technology
1) Piezoelectric ceramic materials
2) Flexible electronics and energy harvesting/conversion design
3) Advanced simulation methods at electronic and atomic scales
1.2 Energy storage technologies
1) Multiscale modeling and device fabrication of solid-state battery
2) New material synthesis, interface design, and reaction mechanism for next-generation electrochemical energy storage
3) Advanced microstructure characterization technology, including synchrotron radiation, neutron scattering, ion beam analysis, etc.
1.3 Catalytic conversion technology
1) Microbial co-culture synthesis gas fermentation to produce butyric acid or alcohol bioenergy
2) Catalytic membrane reactors, electrochemical and microbial conversion processes for high-efficiency one-carbon compounds and hydrogen
3) Thermal and photothermal catalytic approaches for CO2 conversion
4) Biomass upgrading and conversion technology combining thermal cracking, heterogeneous catalysis, and anaerobic fermentation
Ⅱ. Project category and funding amount
The funding amount for 2024 open fund project is 40,000 to 50,000 RMB each, 8-10 projects to be funded. We warmly welcome domestic scientific and technological researchers engaged in relevant areas to apply.
Ⅲ. Application requirements
Basic requirements for applicants: Applicants should have a doctoral degree and have a certain research background in related fields.
Deadline: The application deadline is May 12, 2024.
Announcement of the review results: May 30th, 2024.
Cooperation requirement: in order to facilitate the management of the open fund project, the project applicant needs to have a MATEC member as the project collaborator when applying.

Ⅳ. Project closing requirements
The completion of the project is examined on the basis of the expected goals proposed in the project application. Projects that have achieved the expected goals will be documented as completed. For projects that have not yet achieved the expected goals, the project completion date can be postponed after receiving approval from the MATEC Open Project Committee. Projects which are not approved by the committee will be considered failed, and further open project applications by the same applicant will not be accepted within the next 3 years.
V. Project selection and management principles
The selection of the MATEC open fund project is carried out by means of the individual application, evaluation by the working committee, review, and approval by the laboratory director, and will be announced publicly. The approved projects will be published on the homepage of MATEC https://sites.gtiit.edu.cn/matec. After signing the open project contract with MATEC, the applicants are expected to start the research project within one month.
MATEC encourages scientific and technological talents from other universities to carry out scientific research at MATEC. The research team funded by MATEC open fund project should submit the annual progress report of the project at the end of each year. MATEC will organize an open fund work conclusion and academic exchange meeting in May every year, in which the supervisor or the key members of the funded project need to participate. A team of MATEC members will evaluate the progress of the research and decide whether to keep funding the project. When it is found that the plan cannot be completed or there are problems with the experimental scheme, the funding can be temporarily suspended, adjusted, or canceled accordingly.
VI. Management of research funding and achievements
Funding will be provided by MATEC upon signing the contract. All funds are expected to be used exclusively for research. The scientific research data, papers, and various reports obtained by the funded projects are shared by the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion and the researchers.
For the funded project, the following materials should be submitted to the MATEC upon completion:
1. Electronic version of the scientific research achievements (papers, monographs, patents affiliating MATEC), which shall be marked: Funded by Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion (Project award number).
2. Project Completion Report
Note: the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion has the final right to interpret this application guideline.

Projects in 2022 adhere to the principle of being “basic” and “applied”, focusing on funding projects that solve key scientific and technological problems in materials and technologies for energy conversion. In order to make the funded researches and the researches of MATEC members complementary to each other, the 2022 open fund project will mainly support researches in the following areas, with an implementation period of 2 years.
Ⅰ. Supporting areas
1.1 Electromechanical conversion technology
1) High temperature piezoelectric ceramic material
2) Lead-free piezoelectric ceramic material
3) Advanced simulation methods at electronic and atomic scales
1.2 Energy storage and solar cells technology
1) Multiscale modeling and device fabrication of solid-state battery
2) New material synthesis, interface design, and reaction mechanism for next-generation electrochemical energy storage
3) Advanced fabrication of long-lasting perovskite solar cells
1.3 Catalytic conversion technology
1) Microbial co-culture synthesis gas fermentation to produce butyric acid or alcohol bioenergy
2) Catalytic membrane reactors, electrochemical and microbial conversion processes for high-efficiency one-carbon compounds and hydrogen
3) Biomass upgrading and conversion technology combining thermal cracking, heterogeneous catalysis, and anaerobic fermentation
1.4 Advanced characterization technology
1) Advanced microstructure characterization technology, including synchrotron radiation, neutron scattering, ion beam analysis, etc.
2) Other advanced characterization technologies related to energy conversion materials
Ⅱ. Project category and funding amount
The funding amount for 2022 open fund project is 40,000 to 60,000 RMB each, 8-10 projects to be funded. We warmly welcome domestic scientific and technological workers engaged in relevant areas to apply.
Ⅲ. Application requirements
Basic requirements for applicants: Applicants should have a doctoral degree and have a certain research background in related fields.
Deadline: The application deadline is May 20, 2022.
Announcement of the review results: May 31.
Cooperation requirement: in order to facilitate the management of the open fund project, the project applicant needs to have a MATEC member as the project collaborator when applying.

Ⅳ. Project closing requirements
The completion of the project is examined on the basis of the expected goals proposed in the project application. Projects that have achieved the expected goals will be documented as completed. For projects that have not yet achieved the expected goals, the project completion date can be postponed after receiving approval from the MATEC Open Project Committee. Projects which are not approved by the committee will be considered failed, and further open project applications by the same applicant will not be accepted within the next 3 years.
V. Project selection and management principles
The selection of the MATEC open fund project is carried out by means of the individual application, evaluation by the working committee, review, and approval by the laboratory director, and will be announced publicly. The approved projects will be published on the homepage of MATEC https://sites.gtiit.edu.cn/matec. After signing the open project contract with MATEC, the applicants are expected to start the research project within one month.
MATEC encourages scientific and technological talents from other universities to carry out scientific research at MATEC. The research team funded by MATEC open fund project should submit the annual progress report of the project at the end of each year. MATEC will organize an open fund work conclusion and academic exchange meeting in May every year, where the supervisor or the key members of the funded project need to participate. A team of MATEC members will evaluate the progress of the research and decide whether to keep funding the project. When it is found that the plan cannot be completed or there are problems with the experimental scheme, the funding can be temporarily suspended, adjusted, or canceled accordingly.
VI. Management of research funding and achievements
Funding will be provided by MATEC upon signing the contract. All funds are expected to be used exclusively for research. The scientific research data, papers, and various reports obtained by the funded projects are shared by the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion and the researchers.
