Abstract
Polaritons, hybrid spinor light-matter bosonic particles, exhibit a set of quantum collective phenomena at surprisingly high temperatures. The most remarkable of it, known as polariton condensation, was experimentally confirmed about two decades ago. Differently from cold atoms, polaritons have finite lifetime, and thus their condensation is inherently dynamic, governed by an interplay between the radiative pump and decay.
The standard tool for phenomenological description of the phenomenon is the Wouters-Carusotto model, a dissipating generalisation of famous Gross-Pitaevskii equation. We demonstrate, that one can overcome the fundamental drawback of this model, namely the absence of pure energy and spin relaxation, using quantum hydrodynamics approach.
