Abstract

The study of atomic clusters, or “super-atoms”, has significant potential in nano-optical devices, chemical sensors, and biomedicine acting as a “spectral laboratory” for finite-fermionic systems. We investigated the photoionization dynamics of the endohedral complex, alkali metal cluster (Na20) confined in giant fullerene (C240) using linear response time-dependent density functional theory.  It revealed the first evidence of plasmonic Intercluster Coulombic Decay (ICD). In this seminar, I will present how the plasmon of C240, driven by a XUV photon transfers energy via resonant ICD to the Na20 cluster inside. These findings aim to inspire experimental studies, particularly photoelectron spectroscopy to complement theoretical models and advance research on technologically relevant complexes.
