Description

Special Project Guidelines for “Surface Interface Chemistry and Toxicological Effects of Key Radionuclides in the Marine Environment”

  1. Scientific objectives

Develop new in-situ analysis and monitoring methods for key radionuclides, especially tritium, in the marine environment; focus on the surface and interface chemical behavior of key radionuclides in the marine environment medium, and reveal their migration and transformation mechanisms in the marine environment; combine radionuclides The enrichment behavior of radionuclides in the marine food chain and in-depth study of the low-dose toxicological effects of radionuclides.

  2. Key scientific issues

  (1) Surface and interface chemical behaviors and microscopic mechanisms of key radionuclides in the marine environment.

  (2) The adsorption behavior, separation methods and computational simulation of key radionuclides in the marine environment (such as with salt and other substances).

  (3) Monitoring technology and migration and transformation mechanism of key radionuclides in the marine environment.

  (4) Low-dose toxicological effects of key radionuclides in the marine environment.

  3. Funding plan

There are 3-4 projects planned to be funded, with an average funding intensity of about 2.3 million yuan per project, and a funding period of 4 years. The research period in the application form should be “January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2027”.

  4. Application requirements and precautions

  (1) Application qualifications.

  1. Have experience in undertaking basic research projects;

  2. Have senior professional and technical positions (professional titles).

Postdoctoral researchers on site, those who are pursuing a postgraduate degree, and those who do not have an employer or whose unit is not a supporting unit are not allowed to apply as applicants.

  (2) Regulations on limited applications.

  1. When applying for this special project, it will not be included in the total number of applications and commitments. It will be included in the total number of applications and commitments before the application is officially received, until the Natural Science Foundation of China makes a decision on whether to fund it, and after it is funded.

  2. Applicants can only apply for one research project in the special project in the same year.

  3. Other limited application requirements shall be implemented in accordance with the “Restricted Application Regulations” of the “2023 National Natural Science Foundation of China Project Guidelines”.

  (3) Things to note when applying.

1.The application submission date is from October 25, 2023 to 16:00 on October 30, 2023.

  2. The application form for this special project is written online. The specific requirements for applicants are as follows:

  (1) Applicants should carefully read the relevant content of these application instructions, this project guide and the “2023 National Natural Science Foundation of China Project Guide” before filling in the application form. Application projects that do not meet the project guide and relevant requirements will not be accepted.

  (2) This special project advocates original innovation, encourages in-depth cooperation among personnel with research backgrounds in chemistry, life and environment, promotes interdisciplinary intersection and integration, and provides a scientific basis for major national needs. The aim is to focus on the “surface-interface chemistry and toxicological effects of key radionuclides in the marine environment” and gather domestic superior research teams to conduct research to form a special project group. Applicants should formulate their own project name, scientific objectives, research content, key scientific issues, technical routes and corresponding research funds based on the key scientific problems to be solved by this special project.

  (3) Applicants log in to the Science Fund Network Information System http://grants.nsfc.gov.cn/ (applicants who do not have a system account should apply to the fund management contact of the host institution to open an account), and write the application in accordance with the writing outline and relevant requirements. Book.

  (4) Select “Special Project” for the funding category in the application, select “Research Project” for the subcategory description, and select “Comprehensive Research Project of the Ministry of Science” for the note description.Application code 1 should be based on “II. Key Scientific Issues” For the requirements, select the B02 and B06 subordinate codes of the Department of Chemical Sciences. Applications for projects with inaccurate or unselected selections above will not be accepted.

  (5) Please write the application in accordance with the “Special Project – Research Project Application Writing Outline”,Please indicate at the beginning of the application text “Surface and interface chemistry and toxicological effects of key radionuclides in the marine environment: XXX ( Fill in one of the 4 key scientific questions in the guide)”.

Applications should highlight limited goals and key breakthroughs, and clarify their contribution to achieving the overall scientific goals of this special project and solving core scientific problems. If the applicant has already undertaken other science and technology plan projects related to this special project, the differences and connections between the applied project and other related projects should be discussed in the “Research Basis and Working Conditions” section of the main body of the application.

  3. Applicants should strictly abide by the “Measures for the Fund Management of Projects Funded by the National Natural Science Foundation” and other relevant regulations and the specific requirements of the “Instructions for Preparation of the National Natural Science Foundation Project Fund Budget Statement”, and in accordance with the “relevance of goals, consistency with policies, and economic rationality”. Based on the basic principle of “nature”, we carefully prepared the “National Natural Science Foundation of China Project Budget Form”.

  4. This special project adopts paperless application. After the applicant completes the writing of the application, he or she must submit the electronic application and attachment materials online. The host unit only needs to confirm the electronic application and attached materials online, and does not need to submit a paper application. However, it should carefully review the authenticity and completeness of the application materials submitted by the applicant of the unit, and pass the information before the deadline for receiving project applications. The system confirms the submission of the unit’s electronic application form and attached materials item by item; submit the project application list online within 24 hours after the application deadline. After the project is approved, the host unit will bind the signed and stamped paper page of the application at the end of the “Funded Project Plan” and submit it together as required within the specified time.
