“Double Carbon” special project – “Basic research on hydrogen production and hydrogen storage under the dual carbon target”
(1) Scientific Goal
This special project focuses on low-energy hydrogen production from fossil fuels, the adaptive control of the source and load fluctuations of the renewable energy hydrogen production system, and the efficient hydrogen storage of underground porous reservoirs. Exploring new theories and new methods for low-energy hydrogen production of fossil fuels and reducing the energy consumption of hydrogen production and decarbonization through the research of the collaborative conversion of hydrogen production and carbon. Explore the reliable operation protection control method and efficient converter mechanism of renewable energy direct current off-grid hydrogen production system, and improve the efficiency of renewable energy hydrogen production system. To reveal the mechanism and characteristics of mass transfer and transport of hydrogen in underground porous, and to improve the hydrogen storage performance of underground reservoirs.
(2) Funding Research Field
a. Collaborative conversion of hydrogen production and carbon
b. The transmission and conversion of Off-grid renewable energy into electricity that used for hydrogen production
c. Hydrogen transport and regulation in underground porous reservoirs
(3) Project period and funding scheme
The project period is 3 years, and the research period in the application form should be filled in “January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025”, with an average funding amount of about 3 million yuan, and there will be 3 to 4 projects to be funded.
