Notice from the Guangdong Provincial Basic and Applied Basic Research Fund Committee on soliciting suggestions for the 2024 Provincial Enterprise Joint Fund Project Guidelines in the Field of Public Health and Medicine and Health

The Provincial Enterprise Joint Fund focuses on demand-driven and problem-oriented, is oriented to people’s life and health and the province’s innovation-driven development strategy, and mainly supports basic research, applied basic research and clinical research initiated by researchers. After preliminary research, focusing on the key support areas of the Provincial Enterprise Joint Fund and scientific issues in the core technologies of related industries, focusing on screening and diagnosis of key clinical diseases , in vitro diagnosis and clinical decision-making, critical care system research, anesthesia and perioperative medicine, Nine major fields including ultrasound and imaging medicine, biomedical materials, biomedical engineering (orthopedics), biomedical engineering (minimally invasive surgery) and medical statistics were sorted out, forming 59 related research directions.
In this collection of guideline suggestions, proposers are requested to focus on strengthening the dislocation and connection with the support projects that have been arranged in previous years based on the existing research foundation and team capabilities, and propose corresponding guideline suggestions to provide reference and basis for further selecting the direction of the 2024 guideline. Please refer to Appendix 1 for the recommended filling template of the guide (specifically, please refer to the online filling system).
2. Project type and intensity settings
The Provincial Enterprise Joint Fund is planned to be divided into two categories: “key projects” and “general projects”. Each key project is planned to support 500,000 to 1 million yuan, and each general project is planned to support 100,000 to 200,000 yuan. Please fund according to the project. Propose guideline recommendations with reasonable intensity.
3. Collection objects
Medical and health institutions, colleges and universities, and scientific research institutes within the administrative region of Guangdong Province must be registered as provincial fund-supporting units, and some areas focus on collecting funds from medical and health institutions. The qualifications of provincial fund-supporting units can be queried on the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Business Management Sunshine Government Affairs Platform.
4. Relevant requirements
(1) The proposer should have the qualifications to undertake the corresponding project. In principle, the proposer of the general project should have an intermediate professional and technical title or above or a master’s degree or above; the proposer of the key project should, in principle, have a senior professional and technical title or a doctoral degree, and have relevant research experience.
(2) Submission of clinical research project guideline recommendations should comply with relevant management requirements. The recommended unit should be a supporting unit of the Guangdong Provincial Clinical Medical Research Center and have GCP registration professional qualifications in the same or similar direction as the guideline. The clinical research project proposer should have the corresponding capabilities in clinical research and hold a valid GCP certificate.
(3) Each proposer is limited to submitting one guideline suggestion, and there are no restrictions on items at the unit level.
(4) The project should have strong innovation and application prospects. It is necessary to put forward feasible research plans and solutions around key scientific issues that urgently need to be solved, and provide effective support for the technological development of related industries.
(5) The project should have a good research foundation and research team support in the province.
5. Collection methods and time
(1) The collection of suggestions for this guideline adopts an online collection method. All units are required to organize proposers to fill in the submissions through the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Business Management Sunshine Government Affairs Platform (website: http://pro.gdstc.gd.gov.cn/) , submitted after review by the unit, no need to submit paper materials. See Appendix 2 for the operating procedures.
(2) This guide recommends that the online submission and unit recommendation time is from 9:00 on March 26 to 17:00 on April 12, 2024.
