Bruker Ascend 400 MHz Liquid NMR Spectrometer

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a powerful analytical tool to study the molecules at atomic level. NMR has very wide range of applications including chemistry, life science, environment, materials, pharmaceuticals and petrochemistry, etc. It is playing a pivotal role in the determination of molecular structure and stereochemistry, conformational analysis of organic molecules,  investigation of reaction mechanisms, and information of content and purity.

The NMR spectrometer available located at 1st floor in the north administation building, is a Bruker Ascend 400 MHz Liquid NMR Spectrometer, equipped with a SampleCase autosampler and 24 sample slots, allowing for measurements to run in automation alongside routine experiments. The NMR spectrometer designed for self-service measurement. All user should conduct the NMR at automation mode under his account. To get an account on this instrument, you need to take on-site training and have 10-times experiments follow NMR staff.

Technical Specification:

  • Console – AVANCE NEO, two RF channels
  • broadband 5mm BBFO probe detection frequencies from 31P to 15N, 19F.
  • Z-gradient coil for all frequencies.

Applications:

  • 1D and 2D multi-nucleus measurement such as 1H, 13C, DEPT, 1H-1HCOSY, HMBC, HSQC, NOESY, ROESY, DOSY, etc and other heteronuclear experiments.
  • Temperature variations (-50 oC to +80 oC)
  • Relaxation time for information on molecular dynamics
  • Quantitative information
  • As requirement, NMR staff will configure the instrument and assist with specific or extensive method development.

Sample requirements:

  • 5-25mg (10-50 mM) for 1H NMR, or 20-100mg (50-200 mM) for 13C and 2D NMR.
  • Soluble in water or common organic solvents (deuterated-solvents)

Measurement under 1 hour is free, but extensive or time-consuming NMR experiments may be subject to hourly charge.

Measurement cost may vary depending on the specific conditions and requirements of your analysis. Please contact Prof. Sehoon Park (sehoon.park@gtiit.edu.cn) to discuss your needs and obtain an accurate cost estimate.
