Sustainable Energy Technologies Lab (SETL)
At SETL, research interests are centered around “sustainable” and “environmentally friendly,” themes to meet Net-Zero Emission targets (NZE2050).
Specific emphasis is placed on the thermophysical and thermochemical processes involved.
Applications: Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, Organic Rankine Cycle, Waste-Heat Recovery, Heat Pumps, Atomization, Droplet dynamics, and Combustion of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), and Nanoscale performance enhancers.
State-of-the-art scientific tools, computational (for numerical simulations) and optical/laser diagnostics (for experiments) are employed.
For undergraduates: the lab research activities involve basic concepts like Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Combustion, etc., to understand and advance the existing scientific knowledge.
