Limei Cha earned her Bachelor’s degree from Tianjin University (1999) and Ph.D. in Electron Microscopy & Materials Science under Prof. Manfred Ruehle at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research (MPI-MF), Germany (2006). She conducted postdoctoral research at Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria), ICMPE and IMN institute of CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, France), specializing in microstructural characterization and interface evolution analysis of metallic and energy materials. Since 2014, she has held an Associate Professor position at Hunan University and currently serving as Director of the Electron Microscopy Center at Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (from 2018). She conducts cutting-edge studies on microstructure-property correlations using advanced electron microscopy. Dr. Cha has led 12 national/provincial projects as a PI and Co-PI. Her impactful work, published in Nature Communications, Acta Materialia, and Energy & Environmental Science etc.
