The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars

Overview

The fund supports young scholars with achievements in fundamental research area to launch innovative research.

How to Apply

The applicants should log in to the ISIS system and complete and submit the materials online. And the materials should be also printed and submitted to host institution for further examination and renovation.

Eligibility

The applicant should meet the following qualifications:

1. With Chinese nationality (not a must)
2. Less than 45 years old (born after 1972 January 1) on January 1 in the current year
3. With good science ethics
4. With high professional technical position(title) or doctor degree
5. With experience of undertaking basic research topic or other related experience on basic research
6. Without formal employment relationship with overseas institutions
7. Promise to work on research in the host institution for more than 9 months per year during the funding period

Young Chinese science and technology personnel without Chinese nationality, if fulfilling condition 2-7, are eligible to apply.

Award Information

Project Duration: 5 years

Award size: 3,500,000(3.5 million) Yuan for each project, 2,450,000(2.45 million) Yuan for mathematics and management science project

Proposal Submission

The online proposal should be completed and submitted before March 3, 2017.

The materials should be examined by host institution and returned for renovation during March 3-March 11, 2017.

And the materials should be also printed and submitted to host institution for further examination and renovation. The revised materials should be submitted by the host institution to the NSFC committee before March 20, 2017, 16:00.
