The Chemical Engineering Program (group of Xi Gao), is looking for two PhD/Master candidates to conduct research projects in the catalytic conversion of biomass/plastic into high-value fuels, chemicals, and materials. Contract duration: 2-3 years for Master and 3.5-4 years for PhD.
化学工程系高希教授团队招收两名博士/硕士研究生，开展生物质/塑料催化转化制备高价值燃料、化学品和材料的研究项目。期限：硕士2-3年，博士3.5-4年。
The main objective of the project is to (1) catalytic conversion of plastic into hydrogen and low-carbon fuels, (2) catalytic conversion of biomass into high-value fuels (such as jet fuels), chemicals (such as polyols, sugars, phenols) and carbon materials, etc., (3) catalytic hydrogenation of biomass-derived molecules into high-value chemicals, with the application in cosmic, pharmaceutical, and food, (4) DFT investigate of catalytic mechanism.

- (PhD program) Master's degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Engineering, or in a relevant engineering and Science discipline (essential) （博士项目）化学工程、化学、材料工程或相关工程和科学学科的硕士学位（或同等学历）（必需）
- (MS program) Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Engineering, or in a relevant engineering and Science discipline (essential) （硕士项目）化学工程、化学、材料工程或相关工程和科学学科的学士学位（必需）
- Strong background in catalysis (preferable) 具有较好的催化研究背景（优先）
