The Materials Science and Engineering Program (group of Cheng ZHU) is looking for a PhD student to conduct theoretical research projects in molecular dynamics simulations related to nanomaterials and interfaces.
Contract duration: 3 (in China) + 1 (in Israel) years.
Research in the Prof. ZHU’s group focuses on using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to investigate nanomaterials and nanointerfaces with applications in catalysis, batteries, materials science and biomaterials. We are looking for an excellent candidate who can analyze and interpret experimental data from catalytic testing in accordance with the established model; conduct molecular dynamic simulations to better understand the catalytic effect of the compounds under investigation. You will work in a collaborative international environment and play a key role in our overall technical developments.
Molecular dynamics simulations, computational materials science, theoretical chemistry, nanomaterials and interfaces.
- Master degree (or equivalent) in Theoretical Chemistry/Material Science (or related major), GPA> 85
- Strong background and interest in molecular dynamics simulations (essential)
- Experience with NAMD, LAMMPS or Gromacs (essential)
- Good coding proficiency (preferable)
- Good communication skills, good command of English (essential)
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment (essential)
- Have published at least 1 high-quality scientific papers before (preferable)
- Ability to author scientific reports and co-author scientific publications (essential)
