This position refers to the GTIIT’s Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Department. We have access to top-tier test facilities to conduct cutting-edge research on combustion engine and fluid-driven robotic manipulators. Our main areas of interest are about design, manufacturing, sensing, and control of both heavy-duty manipulators and soft robots. We are therefore hiring a research fellow to develop our research.
Contract duration: Initially for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

This open position requires the following duties and responsibilities:
- Develop innovative research under the guidance of faculty members.
- Make any reasonable effort to become a successful researcher.
- Support the preparation of research papers as the main author and/or as a co-author.
- Identify, purchase, and supervise the installation of equipment for the experiments.
- Support the development and correct functioning of experimental test-beds.
- Propose new ideas to support innovative research.
- Search and study useful material (papers and books) to support innovative research.
Participate in the laboratory activities (internal meetings or requested duties).
Internal combustion engines, robotics, hydraulic systems, applied control, excavators
– PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or any relevant discipline (essential).
– Strong background with prior experience in at least one of the following main areas (essential):
- Internal combustion engines.
- Hydraulic systems and/or robotics.
– Experience in handling 1D simulation in software such as Simulink, Amesim or Gt-Power (preferred).
– Good communication skills, good command of English (essential).
– Ability to work both independently and in a team environment (essential).
– Ability to author/co-author scientific reports and publications (essential).
– Willingness to participate in other research projects (essential).
Total annual salary: RMB 330,000 or more / year (depending on qualifications of the candidate, including government subsidy)
