• Technical English Communication is an undergraduate General Education elective course which prepares students for their lives in the global world of academia, business, diplomacy and technology. Students learn to use formal English for their professional needs, including conducting of meetings; writing formal documents, such as emails, resumes, lab reports, and article summaries; speaking in a variety of situations, such as telephone conversations and socializing; preparing and delivering oral presentations; understanding cultural diversity; and responding appropriately while conversing. The skills of discussion and argumentation are developed in pair as well as group work, with an emphasis on active participation. Writing skills are developed for professional goals. Authentic materials and simulations from up-to-date sources are used.
