Congratulations to the GTIIT students for achieving great results in the Contests!

Students participating in the Comprehensive Ability Contest were invited to share with us their preparation and thoughts about attending the Contest.

Feitong will represent GTIIT in the National Finals of the Comprehensive Ability Contest, she said: “This is undoubtedly a wonderful experience. Despite exhaustion from the trip and busy schedule, I gained a lot. The test of comprehensive ability in this contest was a big challenge for me. It pushed me to learn more Chinese culture and my overall capability improved during the preparation process. What’s more, it’s my first time delivering an impromptu speech on stage. I felt a bit nervous at first, but once I began expressing myself, I gradually became more confident and relaxed. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire competition, and I’m grateful that the results turned out to be rewarding.”

This is Jiayi's first time participating in the contest, she said: “Participating in the FLTRP·ETIC Cup is really a memorable experience for me. Through this short journey, I have learned the glamour of impromptu speaking and my shortages in English at the same time. Looking forward to a better performance the next time.”

Yichao is a Cohort 2024 freshman in GTIIT, but he has already shown his passion in English, he said: “As a freshman, I feel nervous to stand on such a big stage to address a freestyle speech to so many audiences. After  a five-minute speech, I finally get two bronze prizes, which is the first prize during my university career. This experience is fruitful to me. It, which encourages me to practice my oral English more and express my own opinions more bravely. I am determined to attend the competition next year, aiming to get higher scores for school, also for myself.”

Although I didn't get the ideal result, I gained a lot of new experiences. Also, my English skills got practiced and improved through this Zhuhai travel. Thanks to my courage, our teacher, and other partners who have accompanied me all the way!”
