The 12th Guangdong Provincial University Games A Showcase of Talent and Teamwork

The 12th Guangdong Provincial University Games, a prestigious multi-sport event, Its preliminaries concluded recently, and the Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) participated the tennis, basketball and badminton games.

Held from November 2024 to Mar 2025, featured a plethora of competitions across various sports, the Guangdong Provincial University Games providing a platform for universities across Guangdong to display their athletic prowess.

1. 2024 Guangdong Provincial College Tennis Championships & the Tennis Preliminaries of the 12th Guangdong Province University Games. GT Mixed double players win the first game to get in the second round, unfortunately, both of them hurt their arms while competiting. GT quited the game after injury. This is the first time we get into the second stage, it’s a good beginning.

2. 2024 Guangdong Provincial College Basketball Championships & the Basketball Preliminaries of the 12th Guangdong Province University Games, though GT lost their games but every time they are learning, they draw conclusion after each game. Before this competition, they trained 6 times one week. Compared to last year, they become better. The coach is not full-time so the team was led by assisstant coach, and they’ve already tried their best.

3. 2024 Guangdong Provincial College Badminton Championships & the badminton preliminaries of the 12th Guangdong University Games. This is the first time GT badminton went out to competed with other colleges students, though they lost their games but they learned a lot, and aimed to get a better result next year. After this game, they set new training schedule, new goals, we believe they can reach their best in the future.

In conclusion, GTIIT's participation in the 12th Guangdong Provincial University Games was a good experience, with students demonstrating exceptional athletic abilities and sportsmanship. Their performances have brought pride to the institute and inspired future generations of GTIIT athletes to strive for excellence.
