The 13th NFL University Bowl: Fight for the Youth

The 13th NFL University Bowl was held on June 14, 2025, in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. This highly anticipated event brought together some of the top college American football teams in China. The competition took place at Yunding Rugby Park, providing a unique opportunity for students to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.

GTIIT's women's team was one of the eight teams competing in the women's division. Their participation in such a prestigious event reflects the growing interest and development of American football at the university. Although this is the first year of the GTIIT women's team's establishment, under the leadership of coach Gordon Chen, the team has already achieved first place in the 2025 Guangdong Provincial College Students Flag Football Championship. At the 13th NFL University Bowl, the GTIIT women's team continued to demonstrate their talent and determination on the field.

Despite severe weather conditions on the day of the competition including low temperatures and heavy rain, the team faced the challenges with resilience. Coach Gordon Chen quickly adjusted the tactics, which helped the team win their first game against Beijing International Studies University. During the match against Wuhan University, one of our defenders sprained her ankle and had to receive medical attention, which impacted the team's performance, resulting in a loss. The team also lost to Shanghai University of Electric Power, who eventually became the tournament champions. Ultimately, the GTIIT women's team secured third place in the 13th NFL University Bowl.

The team's performance was marked by strong teamwork, strategic plays, and a determined spirit in competing against top-tier teams from across the country. The matches were intense, showcasing exceptional skill and sportsmanship. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, camaraderie, and a deep love for the game.
